Newton, MA - The Lasell Women's Lacrosse team defeated the Thomas (ME) Terriers 15-12 on Saturday to move to 3-2 on the season, while Thomas (ME) is now 1-2.

The Terriers struck first in a high scoring first quarter that featured 10 total goals. But the Lasers responded with a pair of Teresa Kessner goals to take the lead. After a Thomas goal tied things up, the Lasers scored three straight, with another Kessner goal sandwiched by a pair from Kaitlin Bedell. The Lasers would also get a goal from Annarita Sanfilippo, and would lead 6-4 after the first quarter.

The second quarter saw the Lasers controll things more, as they outscored the Terriers 4-1. Four different players would score those goals in Sanfilippo, Bedell, Kaleigh Kosta, and Kessner. This gave the Lasers a 10-5 halftime lead.

The Terriers slightly outscored the Lasers in the third 4-3, with the Lasers getting two more goals from Bedell, and the other from Emily Watson. The Terriers never really got much closer though, as the Lasers got two goals from Michelle Zaluga in the fourth, clinching a 15-12 win.

Natalia Cullen had a team high four caused turnovers for the Lasers, right ahead of Sabrina LeBlanc who had three. Zaluga had a team high seven draw controls, while Cullen also led the team with five ground balls. Joy Sayah made 12 saves in net for the win.

Up next - The Lasers will take on RIC on Tuesday, hosting them at 5pm.
