Newton, MA - The Lasell Lasers Women's Lacrosse team played their second to last game of the season on Saturday, falling to Dean College 18-10. The Lasers are now 2-13 on the season and 2-10 in GNAC play, while the Bulldogs are now 7-8 and 6-6. Prior to the game the Lasers honored their six seniors, Natalia Cullen, Sabrina Leblanc, Emily Chapdelaine, Caroline O'Leary, Eileen McCarthy, and Samantha Jones.

In a high scoring first half, Dean scored first three minutes into the game. But the Lasers came right back and scored on an Emily Chapdelaine goal. They would later take a lead seven minutes into the game on a Kaleigh Kosta goal. But Dean would score four of the next five goals, with the Lasers scoring a goal from Teresa Kessner. The Lasers would score first in the second quarter, another Kessner goal, this time off of a free position shot. This made the game 5-4. The two teams would then trade a pair of goals, with Chapdelaine scoring for the Lasers. After a pair of Dean goals made it 8-5, the Lasers got a goal from Kaitlin Bedell to make it 8-6. A Dean goal with 21 seconds left in the half gave them a 9-6 lead at the break.

Any chance of a Laser comeback was halted in the third, as the Bulldogs scored six straight goals to open the quarter. Sam Jones scored to stop the run, and the Lasers trailed 15-7 after three quarters. After a pair of Bulldog goals to open the fourth, the Lasers scored three straight, with the first two coming from Kaitlin Bedell, and the third from Kessner. The final score was 18-10.

The Lasers were led by Kaitlin Bedell's and Teresa Kessner's three goals each. Emily Chapdelaine had two goals, along with a team high four ground balls and four caused turnovers. Kessner led the team with four draw controls. Goalie Joy Sayah made 13 saves.
