WLX: McComb and Grady lead Lasell group of All-GNAC selections

NEWTON, Mass. – The Lasell University women's lacrosse team received two major awards and six All-Conference selections Tuesday as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced the All-Conference Teams for the 2021 season. The All-GNAC Team is voted on by the conference's head coaches.

Grad student Jordan McComb (Cumberland, R.I./Mt. Saint Charles Academy) and senior Caitie Grady (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) topped the list for the Lasers by being named Midfielder and Defender of the Year, respectively. It is the second straight major GNAC award for McComb and the first for Grady.

Joining McComb and Grady on the All-GNAC First Team were junior midfielder Sydney Brady (Westfield, Mass./Westfield) and freshman attacker Teresa Kessner (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood). Representing Lasell on the Second Team were grad student goalie Morgan Choquet (Woonsocket, R.I./Mt. Saint Charles Academy) and freshman defender Kait Bedell (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry). Sophomore Emily Chapdelaine (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow) was Lasell's representative on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

The Lasell standouts helped the Lasers finish with a 6-2 overall record under first-year head coach Al Eaton, including a 5-1 mark in GNAC play and a quarterfinal playoff victory over Norwich University.

She is fifth all-time with 226 goals, fourth with 65 assists, 184 ground balls and 209 caused turnovers, third with 291 points, and second with 98 caused turnovers.

Brady finished second on the team and fourth in the GNAC with 33 goals this spring, and seventh in the GNAC with 35 points. She scored at least three goals in seven of Lasell's eight games this season. She had a breakout campaign after scoring just six goals in 10 games in her first two seasons.
