WLX: McComb and Brady lead Lasell past Anna Maria

PAXTON, Mass. – Graduate student Jordan McComb (Cumberland, R.I.) and junior Sydney Brady (Westfield, Mass.) combined to score 15 goals Wednesday evening as Lasell University rolled past Anna Maria College, 17-4, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's lacrosse game at Caparso Field.

Lasell improves its record to 4-1 both overall and in the GNAC, while Anna Maria drops to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in league play.

McComb finished with nine goals, one shy of her career high that she posted earlier this season. She also added two assists, 10 draw controls (matching her season-high), and six ground balls, while Brady tallied a career-high six goals, one assist, three draw controls and two ground balls.

McComb also jumped two spots into fourth place on Lasell's career scoring list with 265 points (209 goals, 56 assists).

Freshman Teresa Kessner (Brentwood, N.Y.) contributed a goal and four assists to the Laser offense, and junior Sophia Gadsden (Randolph, Mass.) was good for a goal and an assist.

The game was never in doubt, as Lasell jumped out to a 4-0 lead nine minutes into the game, led 7-0 at the midway point of the half, and 12-0 at the intermission. After McComb scored her sixth goal of the game to start the second half, Anna Maria came alive with three consecutive goals, but the Lasers potted four of the game's final five goals to close out the win.

Lasell plays its final two regular season games on home turf at Grellier Field, beginning this Saturday, April 17, at 11 a.m. against Rivier University. Anna Maria will be home again next Wednesday, April 21, hosting Simmons University at 6 p.m.
