NEWTON, Mass. – It was another balanced scoring effort for the Lasell College women's lacrosse team Tuesday afternoon as the Lasers rolled past Albertus Magnus College, 19-6, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game at Grellier Field.

The Lasers posted their fourth straight victory, improving to 9-3 overall and 5-2 in GNAC games, while the Falcons drop to 3-7 overall and 0-6 in conference play.

Senior Taylor Yandow (Moretown, Vt.), juniors Vanessa Pino (Methuen, Mass.) and Jordan McComb (Cumberland, R.I.) and sophomore Sam Taylor (Hanover, Mass.) all scored three goals for the Lasers, with Yandow and Pino each notching three assists and McComb adding one assist. Sophomore Mandy Brock (North Haven, Conn.) chipped in with two goals, and five other Lasers contributed one goal each. McComb and Yandow also combined for nine draw controls.

Freshman Alix Hughes (Trumbull, Conn.) led all scorers with four goals for Albertus Magnus. Sophomore Kaitlin D'Agostino (Hamden, Conn.) collected a game-high six draw controls and junior Robyn Grimshaw (Waterbury, Conn.) grabbed four.

Lasell scored the first six goals of the game, including two apiece by Taylor and Pino, to take a commanding lead less than six minutes into the contest. Hughes and senior Alex Chan (Monroe, N.Y.) tallied consecutive goals to put the Falcons on the board, but freshman Kellie Matthews (Walpole, Mass.) and Brock answered for the Lasers to get the lead back to six goals at 8-2. Hughes scored her second of the game for AMC but Lasell outscored the visitors 6-1 over the remainder of the half to give the home team a 14-4 advantage at the intermission.

The Lasers pushed the lead to 17-4 with the first three goals of the second half. The teams traded goals over the final 20 minutes for the 19-6 final.

Laser sophomore Morgan Choquet (Woonsocket, R.I.) made six saves to earn the victory in goal, while junior Lexie Fenn (Oakville, Conn.) made 13 saves for the Falcons.

Lasell plays its next two games on the road, beginning this Saturday, April 14, in a GNAC contest at Norwich University (4:00 p.m.). Albertus Magnus returns home on Thursday, April 12 to host in-state rival Mitchell College at 6 p.m. in a non-conference game at Celentano Field.
