10 Players Score in 16-3 Women's Lacrosse Victory over Albertus

0NEW HAVEN, CONN. (4/22/17) – The Lasell women's lacrosse team saw 10 different players score en route to a 16-3 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory against AIbertus Magnus on Saturday afternoon. The Lasers improve to 8-5 overall and 5-2 in the conference, while the Falcons dip to 4-6 this season and 1-6 in GNAC play.

The Lasers outshot the Falcons 25-10, converting on all three free position shots, and owned the ground ball battle 33-21.  Senior Brooke Bergeron (Lynn, Mass.) recorded three saves in the victory, her first of the season in net.

Samantha Taylor (Hanover, Mass.) paced the Lasers on the offensive and defensive front, scoring three goals with seven ground balls. Taylor, Vanessa Pino (Methuen, Mass.), and Taylor Yandow (Moretown, Vt.) each added a pair of goals in the first half to manufacture a commanding 11-1 lead heading into halftime.

Jillian Vergados (Tyngsboro, Mass.) and Megan Palumbo (Southington, Conn.) scored two goal apiece as well, while first years Brooke Landry (New Milford, Conn.), Amanda Brock (North Haven, Conn.), Kaeli Leddy (South Portland, Maine), Chloe Shugrue (Worcester, Mass.) and Jorgia Bergin (Sandwich, Mass.) tossed in a single goal. Senior Maria Vasiliadis (Worcester, Mass.) grabbed a game-high three draw controls in the win for the Lasers.

Lasell will return to Grellier Field for its last two regular season games, playing host to St. Joseph's Connecticut on Wednesday, April 26 at 4:00 p.m.
