Yandow Scores 100th Goal in Drawback at Emerson

BOSTON, Mass. (3/18/17) – Junior Taylor Yandow (Moretown, Vt.) scored her 100th goal on Saturday afternoon against the Lions of Emerson College, adding five total in a 16-6 non-conference setback. The Lasers dip to 3-2 overall, while the Lions earn their first victory of the season at 1-4.

Yandow's team-leading 16th goal of the season came with 14 seconds left in the first half, as the junior reached the 100-goal milestone off a free position shot. All five of her goals were scored in the first half of play.

In a contest originally scheduled for Newton, Mass., the Lions erased a two-goal deficit early on for its first victory at Rotch Field. Yandow added three goals in a three-minute span to lift Lasell to 3-1, before Emerson scored four unanswered goals, and rode momentum the rest of the way. Yandow added two more before the half, one off the stick of Vanessa Pino (Methuen, Mass.), but the Lasers were silenced until the 54th minute when Samantha Taylor (Hanover, Mass.) scored an unassisted marker.

Lasell owned a 15-9 advantage in draw controls – Yandow grabbing five – while Emerson held a 32-13 advantage in shots.

Brooke Bergeron (Lynn, Mass.) made eight saves in her first start in the cage, while Kristina Modica earned the win with five saves.

Lasell is on the road again this Wednesday, March 22, at Gordon for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
