Wuorio and Brecher Named to Women's Lacrosse All-GNAC First Team

NEWTON, Mass. (4/28/14) – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse coaches tabbed three members of the Lasers women's lacrosse program with All-GNAC honors following the 2014 season. Britney Wuorio and Caitlyn Brecher were each named to the All-GNAC First team, while Solange Carpenter was named to the GNAC Sportsmanship team.

Senior attacker Britney Wuorio (Bolton, Mass.) was named to the All-GNAC First team for the fourth consecutive season, making her the first player in the history of the Lasell women's lacrosse program to accomplish such a feat. Wuorio surpassed the 100 point mark for in a season for the third straight year as she finished with 50 goals and 50 assists in 17 games. She led the GNAC in points and assists while ranking fifth in the league in goals scored. Wuorio became the program's all-time leader in points and assists during her final season in a Lasell uniform, finishing with 420 career points.

Junior Caitlyn Brecher (Cheshire, Conn.) joined Wuorio on the first team as an attacker after finishing the season with 51 points on 43 goals and eight assists. Brecher, a first team selection following her sophomore season as well, ranked tenth in the GNAC in goals scored with 43 while her 51 points were the 16th highest total in the conference in 2014.

Senior Solange Carpenter (Gorham, Maine) was named as the Lasers representative to the GNAC Sportsmanship team following her senior year. Carpenter, a four-year member of the women's lacrosse program appeared in 57 games as a defender during her Lasers career.
