Emmanuel answered with three straight goals of their own, tying the score at 4-4 with 6:24 left in the opening half. Wuorio briefly put Lasell back in front, 5-4 when she scored on a feed from Doherty, but Emmanuel closed the half with three consecutive goals to take a 7-5 lead at the intermission.

A free position goal by Emmanuel's Wooten restored the hosts lead to two goals, but Lasell wasn't quite done. Doherty came right back and pulled Lasell within a goal at 12-11 on a pass from Wuorio with 7:15 to play in the game, then the sophomore attacker tied the game with an unassisted goal in the final minute of the second half to send the game to overtime.
