NEWTON, Mass. (2/26/14) - The Lasell College women's lacrosse team was picked as the preseason favorite by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference coaches heading into the 2014 season. The Lasers won the conference regular season and tournament championships last year, finishing 15-4 overall and 9-0 during the league schedule. The 15 wins tied the program record for victories in a season, and the GNAC Championship and NCAA tournament appearance were the first in the program's history.
Lasell returns four All-GNAC selections from a year ago, led by senior attacker Britney Wuorio, the two-time defending GNAC Offensive Player of the Year. Junior attacker Caitlyn Brecher and sophomore defender Bridget Munnelly joined Wuorio on the All-GNAC first team and senior Jen Lemoine was recognized with second team honors following the 2013 season.
Lasell opens their 2014 schedule on Tuesday March 4th when they host MIT at 4 p.m. and their schedule features non-conference contests at Curry, Wellesley, at Bridgewater State, Nichols College and at Western New England.
