Newton, Mass. (4/22/13) - The Lasell College women's lacrosse team captured the first regular season conference championship in the program's history, completing the GNAC schedule unblemished at 9-0. The Lasers undefeated record earned the team the #1 seed in the GNAC conference tournament.
Lasell will host 8th seeded Mount Ida College on Wednesday April 24th at 3:30 p.m. at Grellier Field as they look for their first GNAC tournament championship. Lasell wrapped up their regular season in dominating fashion with a 26-3 victory over The University St. Joseph's (Conn.) on Saturday April 20th to finish the regular season with a 12-3 record overall and a 9-0 record in GNAC contests.
The Lasers have advanced to the GNAC Championship game each of the last two seasons when they were the second seeded team, but have been unable to claim the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. They are looking to capitalize on grabbing the number one seed for the 2013 tournament by capturing their first GNAC Tournament title.
