Women's Lacrosse Uses Big Second Half to Defeat Mount Ida

Newton, Mass. (3/30/13) - The Lasell College women's lacrosse team outscored Mount Ida 13-2 in the second half of action on their way to a 21-7 victory in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play. The win improves Lasell to 7-2 on the season and 4-0 in conference play, while Mount Ida drops to 3-6 overall in 1-3 in league tilts.

Britney Wuorio (Bolton, Mass.) scored a game-high seven goals and added an assist for the Lasers, Caitlyn Brecher (Cheshire, Conn.) finished with five goals and an assistand Taylor Dooley (Barnstable, Mass.) posted a career-high five points on four goals and one assist. 

Alexandria Milot (Tiverton, R.I.) finished with two goals and two assists for the Mustangs, Amanda Bowen (Randolph, Vt.) added a goal and two assists, and Molly Sheppard (Brookhaven, N.Y.) chipped in a goal and an assist on the afternoon.

Sammy Long (Staten Island, N.Y.) made 10 saves to collect the victory in goal for Lasell and Kayle Musty (Topsham, Vt.) stopped six shots while taking the loss for Mount Ida.

Lasell will face Emerson College on Wednesday April 3rd at 4:30 p.m. and Mount Ida will host St. Joseph's (Conn.) under the lights at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 3rd as well.
