The Lasell College women's lacrosse team is looking to continue their record breaking season as the head into the Great Northeast Athletic Conference playoffs. The Lasers have already set a school record with 13 wins, and finished the season with an 8-1 record in GNAC play.
Lasell will open their drive for a first-ever GNAC championship when they host #7 seeded Rivier College on Tuesday at 4 pm at Grellier Field. The two teams met once this season, only ten days ago, when the Lasers picked up a 23-10 victory over the visiting Raiders. Rebecca Stanton, Ashley Slattery and Britney Wuorio each scored six goals for Lasell in the first meeting of the season, while Rivier got three goals apiece from Rebecca Wickens, Jessica Amaral and Hannah Wyatt.
Norwich University (9-0, 11-0) took the top seed in the GNAC, and are looking to repeat as GNAC Champions this season for the third season in a row. The Cadets are currently undefeated in conference and regular season play. Lasell College (8-1, 13-2) comes in at the second seed, followed by Emerson College (6-3, 7-6) in the third seed, and Simmons College (6-3, rounds out the top four with the fourth seed. Securing the fifth seed slot is Saint Joseph's College (ME) (5-4,8-5) and the sixth seed goes to Mount Ida College (4-5,4-10). Seventh and eighth place seeds are secured by Rivier College (4-5,5-6) and Emmanuel College (2-7, 5-9) respectively.
