Boston, MA - The Lasell University Women's Basketball team saw a historic season end on Tuesday in the GNAC Quarterfinals with a loss to Emmanuel by a final score of 87-62. The Lasers season ends at 16-9, while the Saints move to 15-11. The Lasers end the season as the second winningest team in program history.

Over the first five minutes the two teams went back and forth, and the Saints led 11-10. But Emmanuel would end the first quarter on an 11-0 run, and led by 12 headed into the second. They'd get up by 15 before the Lasers made their move, and an 11-2 run got the Lasers right back in it. They would trail 38-31 at the break. In the second half the Lasers tried to stay with the Saints, but Emmanuel proved to have too much fire power, and they would go on to win 87-62.

The Lasers were led by Kiara Cerruti's 21 points. The other double-digit scorers for the Lasers were Mia Sullivan-Sanders (11) and Laura Johnson (10). Johnson, along with Blaize Mack led the team with six rebounds. Johnson ends the season averaging 11.9 rebounds per game, setting a new school record, besting Kim Archibald's previous record of 10.3 in the 2009-2010 season. They are the only two players in school history to average double-digit rebounds in a season.

Up Next - The Lasers will graduate just one player in Brooke Damboise, and will look to build off the historic season. They will also get an impact player returning, as Juju Nealy, their leading scorer and GNAC third teamer in the 2022-23 season, will return after sitting out all of this season with an injury
