West Hartford, CT - The Lasell Lasers fell to the USJ Blue Jays on Wednesday, losing 66-56. The Lasers are now 15-8 on the season and 9-4 in the GNAC. The Blue Jays are now 21-3 and 12-1.

It was a back and forth first quarter, but the Blue Jays led 14-8 with two minutes left in the quarter. The Lasers then ended the quarter on an 8-0 run to lead 16-14 at the end of the first quarter. A 14-2 run over the first nine minutes of the second quarter gave the Blue Jays control, and they led 33-23 at the break.

Despite the slow second quarter, the Lasers came out on fire in the third, opening the quarter on an 8-0 run, getting within two. But a 10-2 run to close the quarter gave USJ an 11 pount lead headed into the fourth. The Lasers were unable to make a dent in that lead in the fourth, and fell 66-56.

The Lasers were led by the duo of Shirle Major and Kiara Cerruti, as each had 21 points. They were the only Lasers to score in double-digits. Blaize Mack grabbed nine rebounds, with seven on the offensive end. Right behind her was Laura Johnson (8), Cerruti (7), and Mia Sullivan-Sanders (6). Defensively, Jasmine DePina had four steals.
