Northfield, VT - The Lasell Women's Basketball team defeated the Norwich Cadets on Saturday by a final score of 70-64. With the win the Lasers are now 15-7 on the season, 9-3 in GNAC play, and have clinched a playoff spot. The 15 wins on the season tie them with the 2005-06 team for second most in school history. The Cadets are now 8-14 and 2-10.

The Lasers started off great, grabbing an early 12-2 lead just minutes into the game. But over the final seven minutes of the quarter they managed just four more points, and trailled 18-16 at the end of the quarter. A 5-0 run to start the second quarter gave the Lasers the lead again, but only for a brief period of time. A 9-0 run by the Cadets put them ahead 31-23, and they held a 39-31 lead at halftime.

The Lasers would slowly inch closer throughout the third quarter, and a Shirle Major three pointer at the buzzer made it a 55-53 (Norwich) game going into the fourth quarter. The Lasers trailed 64-57 with just under five minutes remaining in the game. They would then go on a 13-0 run to end the game, winning 70-64.

It was a balanced attack for the Lasers, as four different players scored in double-digits, led by Kiara Cerruti's 20. After her it was Shirle Major with 14, Laura Johnson with 12, and Brooke Damboise with 11. Johnson also grabbed 13 rebounds for a double-double. Off the bench, Jasmine DePina had 11 rebounds. Every member of the starting five had at least two steals, led by Damboise's four.

Up Next - The Lasers will travel to USJ on Tuesday for a 5pm start.
