Standish, ME - The Lasell Women's Basketball team saw their program record eight game winning streak snapped on Saturday by the GNAC leading Saint Joseph's (ME) Monks. The Monks won 80-52, and are now 14-7 on the season and 10-0 in GNAC play. The Lasers are now 14-7 and 8-3.

Things started off great for the Lasers, led by Kiara Cerruti's eight first quarter points, they led 17-15 after the first quarter. They led 15-7 midway through, but the Monks began to grab momentum by ending the quarter on an 8-2 run. After the first quarter, it was all Monks, as they outscored the Lasers 19-8 in the second quarter, taking a 34-25 lead at halftime. After their first bucket of the second half put them up 11, the monks never let the Lasers get back within single digits, as the Lasers fell 80-52.

The lone double-digit scorer for the Lasers was Cerruti, as she scored 10 points. Brooke Damboise and Laura Johnson each had four assists, while Johnson also led the team with 13 rebounds. This was Johnson's 18th game of the year with double-digit rebounds, already a school record. It also ties her with Alexis Chappell and Dana Ross for third most in a career, trailing just Danielle Autencio (29) and Kim Archibald (31).

Up Next - The Lasers will look to bounce back next Saturday when they travel to Norwich for a 3pm game.
