Fitchburg, MA - The Lasell Women's Basketball team ended the first half of their season with a victory on Saturday, defeating the Fitchburg Falcons 71-53. The Lasers are now 5-4 on the season, while the Falcons are 3-7.

The game got off to a slow start, with neither tem scoring in the first three and a half minutes. With things tied up at four, the Lasers went on a 10-0 run to grab the lead and control of the game. They would hold an 18-7 lead after one. The second quarter was a similar story, with a 3+ minute drought, and then a 13-4 run to end the half by the Lasers. They led 36-16 at the break. The Lasers were never in any trouble in the second half, with the Falcons never getting closer than 12.

The Lasers were led by Shirle Major's 20 points. The only other double-digit scorer was Kiara Cerruti, who scored 10. Mia Sullivan-Sanders scored nine off the bench. Ten different players scored for the Lasers. As has been the case all year, the Lasers found success on the glass, outrebounding the Falcons 60-50. This was led by Laura Johnson's 13 rebounds, seven of which were offensive rebounds. Blaize Mack and Sullivan-Sanders each had nine.

Up Next - The Lasers will play their next game in the new year when they host Paul Smith's College on January 4th at 1pm.
