Raiders Down Women's Hoops 76-54

NASHUA, N.H. (2/5/17) – The Lasell women's basketball team dropped its final road test of the regular season to the Raiders of Rivier University, 76-54, on Saturday afternoon inside Muldoon Gymnasium

Freshman Dana Ross (East Haven, Conn.) led the Lasers with a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards, going 5-for-7 from the floor. Ross was the lone Laser to reach double figures on the score sheet, as Morgan Church (New London, N.H.) followed with nine points, four assists, and seven rebounds.

Four of five starters reached double digits for the Raiders with Kaylee Kacavas leading the charge on a monster 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting. Rebecca DeBaldo was close behind with 19, while Caitlyn Perry and Savanna Butterfield chipped in with 13 and 11, respectively.

Rivier used 25 points in the first quarter to gain an early lead on the Lasers, with all starters exhausting the ten-minute stretch. DeBaldo made all but one (3-of-4) field goals for eight points, while Butterfield and Perry chipped in with six apiece, to lead the visitors 25-10 after the first quarter. The Raiders then held on to a comfortable lead with 18 points in the second frame, heading into the locker room with a 43-20 advantage.

Junior Brianna Hoffman (Milford, N.H.) and Ross put up nine and ten points, respectively, to pace the Lasers in the second frame, but the Raiders didn't let up and held on for good for the 76-54 final.

Lasell will head home for its final three games of the regular season, beginning with a 7:00 p.m. conference contest on Tuesday, February 7 vs. Anna Maria.
