Framingham State Races to 79-32 Victory over Women's Hoops

Framingham, Mass. – The Lasell women's basketball team fell to Framingham State University 79-32 in non-conference action at the FSU Athletic enter on Tuesday evening. The Lasers even their mark at 2-2 with the setback, while junior Quinn O'Connell (Sterling, Mass.) led the Rams with 23 points to advance to 4-0 on the season.

The Lasers were paced by 10 points from Madison Cota (Bellow Falls, Vt.) who connected on 3-of-5 from the field while also grabbing six boards.  Jaime Caron (Derry, N.H.) chipped in with six points off the bench, while Brianna Hoffman (Milford, N.H.) and Liz Bougie (Sanford, Maine) added five apiece.

O'Connell led all scorers with her game-best 23 points on 8-of-12 from the field including 6-of-9 from behind the arc.  O'Connell also added four rebounds, four assists and five steals.  Freshman Mary Kate O'Day (Berlin, Mass.) was the only other Ram to reach double figures with 11 points on 4-of-7 from the floor.

The Rams opened the game with a 10-0 run capped by an Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.) layup, but Lasell countered with an 8-0 spurt of their own to pull within two.  The Rams answered with a 13-0 run to close the first and take control of the game.

The Lasers are back in action next Monday when they travel to MCLA for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff, while the Rams host Mount Ida College at 6 p.m. the following Tuesday.
