Suffolk Handles Lasell in Women's Basketball Action

Newton, Mass. (02/02/13) – The Lasell College women's basketball team fell 67-24 to the visiting Rams of Suffolk University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon. The win leaves Suffolk at 15-5 on the season and 7-1 in conference play, while Lasell falls to 8-12 overall and 3-6 in GNAC play.

Danielle Autencio (Montville, Conn.) and Alexis Chappell (Springfield, Mass.) each tallied six points for the Lasers, while grabbing nine and eight rebounds respectively.

Iliana Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) was the leading scorer for the Rams with 13 points and Gracy Harrigan (Taunton, Mass.) joined her in double figures with 11 points. Tori Brillard (North Andover, Mass.) grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to help Suffolk earn the conference victory.

Suffolk finished the game shooting 38.4% from the floor, and went 9-26 from three point land, while holding Lasell to 17% shooting overall and 0-6 from distance. The Rams also held a plus-11 turnover margin, forcing the hosts into 26 miscues on the afternoon.

Suffolk scored the first 19 points of the game and cruised to a comfortable victory.

Lasell will return to the floor on Tuesday Feb. 5th when they host Rivier University at 5:30 p.m. while Suffolk will host Johnson and Wales University the same day at 6:00 p.m.
