Lasell Raises $195 for Play 4Kay Initiative

The Lasell College women's basketball program took part in the Play 4Kay initiative during their Saturday February 11th home game versus Albertus Magnus College, raising $195 for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The proceeds from the women's and men's doubleheader were donated to the cause and donations from spectators were also collected.

The February 11th event, co-sponsored by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, was part of a national campaign across all levels of basketball. The coaches and administrators throughout the GNAC chose to make a conference wide commitment to the Play 4Kay initiative, and every member of the conference will host a home contest dedicated to the cause.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, in conjunction with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and The V Foundation promote the Play 4Kay initiative at basketball events nationwide. The event is renamed for the late North Carolina State women's basketball coach Kay Yow, who helped organize the Kay Yow Cancer Fund to raise money and awareness to fight against all forms of women's cancer.
