Lasers Defeat Lesley on Senior Night

Newton, MA - The Lasell college women's basketball team defeated visiting Lesley University, 63-41 in their final regular season home game of the season. Lasell improved to 4-19 on the year with the win, while Lesley fell to 0-23. Freshman Danielle Autencio(Montville, CT) posted a double-double, with 11 points and 14 rebounds, and fellow freshman Justine Ryan(Norwood, MA) was the leading scorer for Lasell tallying 14 points and going 4-8 from three point range. Sophomore guard Emily Fleming(Medford, MA) led the way for the Lynx, scoring 16 points, while adding six assists and seven steals.

The Lasers built a 34-23 halftime lead on the strength of 46.2% shooting from the field, while holding the Lynx to 8-25 shooting from the floor. Lasell used a 14-2 run in the middle of the first half to open up a 32-19 lead with three minutes remaining in the opening half and their lead was never less than double figures the rest of the way.

Lasell gradually built their lead throughout the second half by clamping down on the defensive end, holding Lesley to 25% shooting while forcing 10 second half turnovers. 

The win improves the Lasers to 4-18, and they will conclude their regular season with two road contests this week. Lasell will travel to Keene State on Thursday February 16th for a non-conference tilt, followed by their final GNAC game of the season at Norwich University on Saturday February 18th.
