Lasers Defeat Mustangs 59-43

Newton, MA--The Lasers traveled to cross-town rival Mount Ida today to begin conference play.  The first half of the game was back and forth with numerous lead changes and five ties.  The Lasers took charge offensively during the last three minutes of the half going on an 8-0 run to take a 31-23 lead into the break. 

The second half was all Lasell as the Lasers held the Mustangs to just 23% shooting from the floor.  Lasell never trailed in the second half as they increased their lead to 16 for a final score of 59-43.  Junior Kate Farr (Rindge, NH) led the scoring putting up 20 points for Lasell.  Rookie Kim Archibald (Lewiston, ME) continues to play well, scoring 10 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.  This was the only double double of the contest.  Senior Tricia Culver (Northampton, MA) and sophomore Kelsey Converse (Laconia, NH) added seven points each

The Lasers improve to 4-7 overall and 1-0 in conference play.  They will be in action again on Tuesday night when they host conference opponent Emmanuel College at 8:00 p.m.
