NOR'EASTERS STORM PAST LASELL

Katie Farr (Rindge, NH) and Shauna Kelly (Quincy, Mass.) had 10 points apiece for Lasell College in a non-conference loss to the Nor'easters of University of New England, 41-89, on Tuesday night.

Lasell hung with the Nor'easters through the opening minutes, with Farr dropping in five early points, and Kelly and Tricia Culver (N. Hampton, Mass.) providing an additional seven together.  At 9:05 in the first, first year guard Kelsey Converse (Laconia, NH) nailed a three to bring the game to 24-15, which was the closest the Lasers got to the Nor'easters for the remaining period.  The hosts cranked out a 58.6% shooting percentage, and left Lasell trailing by fourteen heading into the half.

UNE had a commanding height benefit which they took advantage of, out-rebounding the Lasers, 53-23, and outscoring the Lasers, 46-14, in the paint.  UNE's forwards Margo Russell (Madison, ME) and Heather Laferriere (Veazie, ME) combined for 23 points, with Laferriere pulling down 14 boards.

The second half belonged to the Nor'easters as well, as they held the Lasers to only one second chance shot and only 4 points in the paint.

Farr and Kelly were the top rebounders for Lasell, collecting 9 combined, as well as finishing with 2 and 3 assists respectively.   Converse finished the game with six points.

Lasell has a three day break before traveling to Regis College on Saturday, December 6th.  Game time is set to start at 2:00 p.m
