• Five Lasers Selected to GNAC Softball All-Conference Teams

    Newton, Mass.- Ashley Laramie of Lynn, Massachusetts was selected to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference softball first team All-Conference, and fellow Lasers Heather Rose (West Roxbury, Mass.), Heather Lynch (Warwick, RI), Tricia Culver (Northampton, Mass.), and Michelle Torres (Waltham, Mass.) were all named to the third team All-Conference for Lasell College.

    Newton, Mass- The Lasers and the Gators split in a softball doubleheader Sunday on Taylor Field. Lasell took the first contest 8-5 and Pine Manor snuck by with a 4-2 second game after a late Gator homerun in the seventh. Pine Manor has finished the season ranked 4th in the GNAC and the Lasers end in 6th as the team’s head into the first round of the GNAC tournament on Tuesday
  • Emerson Pulls Away from Lasers for two GNAC Wins

    Newton, Mass.- In a rescheduled doubleheader matchup between two of the top teams in GNAC softball, Emerson College was victorious twice over the Lasell College Lasers. The Lasers took an early lead in game one, but the Lions returned in full force in the third inning, mounting a 10-2 win. The Lasers tied game two in the second inning, but the Lions rallied for four runs late to make it 5-2 in seven innings.

    Newton, Mass.- The Lasers downed Mount Ida twice in GNAC softball action today on Taylor field. The Lasers opened the double-header with a 12-3 win in just six innings, then closed the nightcap with a 10-2 victory in five innings. The Lasers remain at the top of the GNAC standings with a 16-9 overall record, and a 9-1 conference mark, while the Mustangs have a 6-16 record, and stand at 4-8 in the GNAC.

    BOSTON, Mass. – After holding an early lead in both games of Sunday’s softball double-header with Lasell, the Emmanuel Saints were defeated in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action played at Rotch Park. The Lasers rallied from a 2-run deficit in the opener to take a 9-6 win and then overcame a 2-1 margin in game two for a 7-5 victory. With the wins, Lasell is now 14-9 overall and 7-1 in conference play, while the Saints dropped to 6-16 on the season and 3-9 in the GNAC.
  • Lynch's Walk-Off Homer Seals Lasers 11th Victory

    Newton, Mass.- Lasell's Heather Lynch (Warwick, RI) hit a walk-off homerun in the bottom of the seventh to seal the Lasers 11th season victory over the Lynx of Lesley University, 5-4. This is Lynch's fourth home run of the season, bumping Lasell's overall record to 11-8, while the Lynx drop to 5-6.

    BOSTON, MA – Sophomore first baseman Elisa LaRoche (Westford, MA) cracked a three-run double to lead the University of Massachusetts Boston softball team to a 6-5 win over visiting Lasell College in the second game of a doubleheader split today at the Clark Athletic Center field on the campus of UMass Boston. The Lasers won the first game of the day, 5-4. The Beacons are now 4-12 on the season, while Lasell stands at 10-8.
  • Loseff Shuts Out Blue Jays in Game 1; Lasers Stay Unbeaten in GNAC

    Lasell’s Jackie Loseff (Point Pleasant, NJ) struck out nine and allowed no runs as the Lasers took a 3-0 win in game one over Saint Joseph’s College (CT) this afternoon, on Taylor Field. In the second match of the day, Kirsten Mammola (North Reading, Mass.) took the 5-1 win, striking out 5 with one unearned run, as the Lasers swept the day, and remained unbeated in the GNAC (4-0).

    East Providence, R.I. -- The Johnson & Wales University softball team dropped a pair of decisions in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference double header with Lasell at Pierce Field on Friday afternoon. Lasell posted a 6-5 win in the opener and finished the sweep with a 6-0 victory in the nightcap.

    Newton, Mass.- Brandeis University took both games in a double-header with the Lasell College softball team on the Lasers opening day at Taylor Field, on Tuesday. The Judges stole a 3-2 victory in the first game out from under the Lasers and then ran away with an 8-3 game in the second.

    Two softball and three lacrosse players got conference honors for the week ending March 23rd. The Laser’s women’s lacrosse team took down all three weekly awards given out by the GNAC, and softball took two of the three weekly awards.

    FORT MYERS, Fla. – Kirsten Mammola (North Reading, Mass.) recorded her first win of the season against SUNY Brockport 3-2 in eight innings for Lasell softball on Monday. Mammola pitched all eight, holding the Golden Eagles scoreless through six innings. Though Brockport went ahead in the seventh, the Lasers came back to force extra innings and scored twice in the eigth to seal the victory.

    FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Lasell College softball team split on their opening day in Fort Myers, Florida, beating University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, and dropping a close 4-3 decision to Franklin & Marshall Univeristy.
