Cross Country Wraps Up Fall Campaign at DIII New Englands

 

NEWTON, Mass. (11/12/16) -- The Lasell College men's and women's cross country teams concluded their 2016 schedule at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships Saturday at Westfield State University.

Lasell placed 49th overall in the men's race, while the women finished 58th to conclude the season. MIT won both team titles.

Sophomore Kyle Vonick (Wethersfield, Conn.) led the Laser men, finishing the 8K race in 28:58.42. Placing 249th out of 384 runners, Vonick topped his career-best performance at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships by more than 30 seconds.

Sophomores James Phelps (Westbrook, Maine) and Ryan Dalaba (North Granville, N.Y.) also finished the men's race with sub-30:00 times, following closely behind Vonick in 255th and 257th, respectively.

Three freshmen rounded out the men's finishers as Mark Greenwald (Monmouth, Maine) placed 309th, Matt Holden (Methuen, Mass.) 312th, and Kevin Wallin (Billerica, Mass.) 362nd. Holden and Wallin both set career-best times, while Greenwald ran his second-best race of the season in 30:12.24.

Sophomore Stephanie Seedorf (Massapequa, N.Y.) paced Lasell in the 6K women's race, posting a time of 26:04.98 to place 282nd. Seedorf was also the Lasers' lead finisher at the GNAC Championships two weeks ago.

Karli Manship (Pittsfield, Mass.) concluded her freshman season with a 336th-place finish, while classmates Megan Stella (Warren, Mass.) and Allie Clancy (Beverly, Mass.) also finished inside the top-400.
