Men's Cross Country Takes 5th Place at Roger Williams Invitational

Bristol, RI-  The Lasell College men's cross country team finished in fifth place at the Roger Williams Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Colt State Park.  The University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth won the meet with 38 points, while Great Northeast Athletic Conference preseason favorites Johnson & Wales University came in second place overall with 53 points. 

 

Bridgewater State's Stephen Wahome completed the 5K course first of all competitors with a time of 16:10.  Bridgewater tied for third place in the meet with Roger Williams, each team collecting 66 points.

 

Eight Lasers picked up their fastest times of the season at the race.  For Lasell, Miguel Taveras (Lawrence, MA) was the top finisher, coming in 37th overall with a time of 18:22.  Patrick Slight (Franklin, MA) came in just eight seconds behind Taveras, having cut 27 seconds off his previous season 5K time of 18:57.

 

Raymon Donis (Raynham, MA) and Kristopher McCabe (Kingston, NY) followed each other in order in 51st and 52nd place.  Donis notched a time of 19:24, while McCabe improved upon his previous race time by 1:16, with a time of 19:26.

 

David Kananowitz (North Monmouth, ME) and Mikhail Krevosky (Oxford, MA) locked in times of 20:10 and 20:22 respectively and Charlie Dilella (Branford, CT), Grant Vantine (Fitchburg, MA) and Michael Isherwood (Warwick, RI) rounded out the Lasers squad, finishing the course with completion times of 20:31, 20:34, and 21:41. 

 

The Lasers have two weeks off from competition before they head to the Elms Blazer Invitational on Saturday, September 25th.
