LASER WOMEN PLACE 3rd & MEN 4th AT MONKS INVITATIONAL

Kayla McKenna (Warwick, RI) and Chris Johnson (Gloucester, MA) led the pack for the Lasers again at the St. Joseph's College of Maine Monks Invitational. 

The women's team finished the 5K cross country race in third on Saturday and the men's team finished the 8K race in fourth overall. Three athletes on the men's cross country team finished in the top 20 at the Invitational. Johnson finished in the race in the 10th spot overall, running 30:22, followed closely by Zachary Lambert (Marlborough, MA) at 31:20, in 15th place. 

Kris McCabe (Kingston, NY) rounded out the top twenty at 19th place, crossing the finish at 32:18.The women's team also had three athletes in the top twenty. 

Finishing first for the Lasers was McKenna in the 11th position.  McKenna completed the race at 23:05.  Junior Ariella Harrington (Woburn, MA) ended with a time of 23:42, picking up the 15th place, and freshman Meghan Missett (Lowell, MA) came in just three seconds later in 16th place.

On Friday, October 17th, the Lasers will compete in Boston, Mass. at the Saints Invitational at Franklin Park.  The Lasers will recognize their seniors, Chris Johnson, Kayla McKenna, Megan Harrison, Lauren Darrah, and Danielle Chiarella on Saturday, October 18th during Family, Friends and Alumni weekend at half time of the women's soccer game, on Taylor Field.
