Lasell Men’s Volleyball player named GNAC Rookie of the Week

NEWTON, Mass. – One of the top freshmen on the Lasell College men's volleyball team was honored by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Monday for his performance in four matches last week.

Freshman Conor Leary-Watson (Bethany Conn.) was named GNAC Men's Volleyball Rookie of the Week after strong efforts in the four outings, including a 1-1 mark in a pair of conference matches.

A 6-7 middle blocker, Leary-Watson recorded 37 kills in the four matches (2.47 kills/set) with a .198 attack percentage. He also contributed eight service aces (0.53 aces/set) and six total blocks (0.40 blocks/set). The rookie standout had a season-high 16 kills with a .444 attack percentage and five aces in a GNAC victory over Regis College, and added 12 kills and two blocks against MIT. He also topped the Lasers in a match against Eastern Mennonite University, recording seven kills and a .500 attack percentage (7-2-10).

Leary-Watson and his teammates will be back in action on Tuesday, March 6, hosting Eastern Nazarene College in a non-conference match at 7:00 p.m.
