MT&F: Withrow, Robertson lead Lasers at Brandeis Tri-meet

WESTON, Mass. – The Lasell University men's track & field team made its first official appearance of the 2021 spring season Saturday afternoon, posting some solid performances at a tri-meet hosted by Brandeis University at Weston High School.

The meet included Lasell, Brandeis and Babson College. The team scores in the men's meet were Brandeis 75.5, Babson 66.5 and Lasell 7.

The top finishers for the Laser men were senior captains Geralson Withrow (Mystic, Conn.) and Jordan Robertson (Warsaw, N.Y.). Withrow was third in the 3,000 meters, finishing in 10:57.06, while Robertson led a 3-4-5 Laser finish in the 400 meters by placing third in 1:01.55 while junior Sage Dussault (Leominster, Mass.) was fourth in 1:05.17 and freshman Franklin Torres (Cranston, R.I.) was fifth in 1:12.29.

Lasell had three entries in the 100-meter dash. Sophomore Ben Abely (Stonington, Conn.) was fourth in 11.88 seconds, followed by junior James Falzone (Waltham, Mass.), seventh in 12.78, and freshman Ryan Vella, eighth in 14.23. Also representing Lasell were graduate student Kevin Wallin (Billerica, Mass.) in the 1500 meters (7:04.61) and freshman Patrick Carbone (Peabody, Mass.) in the 800 meters (2:22.05).

The Lasers' only entries in the field events were performed by freshman Connor Parker (Rutland, Vt.), who was fourth in the shot put (9.60m, 31'6") and fifth in the discus (19.89m, 65'3").

Lasell will compete again on Sunday, April 25 at UMass Boston.
