Lasell Men’s Track & Field competes at UMass Dartmouth Classic

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Lasell College men's track & field team continued the outdoor season Saturday afternoon, with senior Ben Lane (Rutland, Vt.) leading the way at the University of Massachusetts Corsair Classic.

Lane, who was the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week after last week's performance, had another strong day of racing. He placed seventh out of 80 sprinters in the 200 meters with a time of 23.54 seconds, and finished 10th out of 61 in the 100 meters in a time of 11.69 seconds.

Sophomore Ben Biello (North Dighton, Mass.) also competed in the 100 and 200 meter races, placing 41st in the 100 with a time of 12.45 seconds, and 44th in the 200 in 25.04 seconds. Freshman Vance Viliere (Milford, Mass.) also ran the 100 in 14.04 seconds.

Junior Matt Holden (Methuen, Mass.) placed 38th among the 50 runners in the 400-meter dash in 58.28 seconds, and classmate Kyle Mullen (West Newbury, Mass.) was 50th in the 800 meters in 2:43.54.

 Juniors Mark Payton (Barrington, R.I.) and Kevin Wallin (Billerica, Mass.) were 48th and 52nd in the 1500 meters with times of 5:51.35 and 6:47.80, respectively.

The Lasers will be back on the track next Friday, April 5, at the Regis College Spring Classic, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
