Lasell Track & Field races at BU’s John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON, Mass. – The Lasell College men's and women's track & field teams competed in the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday and Saturday. The action started on Friday morning with the women's team competing in events from the 60m dash up to the 500m distance while the men's team competed on Saturday afternoon. Both teams saw marked improvements from the previous week with some new season best performances.

Freshman Isabella Raffone (Westbrook, Conn.) improved her time from the previous week in the women's 60m dash, leading the team with a time of 9.11 seconds, with teammate Allie Clancy (Beverly, Mass.) on her heels in 9.24. A trio of Lasell athletes competed in the 400m dash, with senior Lauren Lenahan (Weymouth, Mass.) leading the women with a time of 1:07.85 followed by freshman Allie Amos (Prescott, Ariz.) in 1:09.39 and freshman Maggie McGovern (Worcester, Mass.) in 1:12.78.

The men's team started with sophomore Alex Desharnais (Kingston, Mass.) throwing the shot put with a mark of 8.76m. Freshman Ben Biello (N. Dighton, Mass.) led the running events with the 60m dash finishing in 7.92. Biello used the 60m dash for a warm-up for the 200m dash where he ran to a personal best with a time of 25.66 just behind junior Ben Lane (Rutland, Vt.) in 24.16 and sophomore Massimo Cugno (Medford, Mass.) finishing in 25.33. In the mile, junior Ryan Dalaba (N. Granville, Mass.) ran a solid sub- five-minute time, finishing in 4:54.55 to finish the day for the Lasers.

The Lasell Track & Field teams take a break this weekend from competition then return to BU for the Valentine meet on February 9 and 10.
