Lasers Set Personal Bests at Springfield Classic

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (4/22/17)- The Lasell men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Springfield Classic on Blake Tack hosted by Springfield College this past weekend.

Freshman Anthony Liriano (Elmira, N.Y.) had a career day, as he broke his own school record which he set the previous week in the hammer throw with a toss of 21.85 meters.  Sophomore Benjamin Lane (Rutland, Vt.) continued his stellar season with a 10th place finish in the 100 meters and an 11th place in the 200 to lead Lasell on the track. Sophomore Ryan Dalaba (North Granville, N.Y.) had an immense personal best in the 1500 meters, while freshman Matt Holden (Methuen, Mass.) continued the success to the 800 meters where he ran a three-second personal best. 

On the women's side, senior Ayumi Ranucci (Auburn, Maine) broke the 100-meter school record, running a time of 13.36, and came back to run another solid race in the 200 dash. Freshman Megan Stella (Warren, Mass.) followed with a personal record of her own in the 200, while classmate Karli Manship (Pittsfield, Mass.) ran a commanding 20-second personal best in the 1500 meters.  In the 400-meter dash, junior Lauren Lenahan (Weymouth, Mass.) passed her personal best time by two seconds to cap Lasell's success.

The Lasers will be back in action next Sunday at their final regular season contest, where they will take on the Regis Pride Invitational at Regis College.
