Men's Track and Field Improves at John Terrier Classic

BOSTON, Mass. (1/30/16) – Six Lasers competed in the men's track and field John Terrier Classic Invitational this past Saturday on the campus of Boston University.

Freshman Benjamin Lane (Rutland, Vt.) set a personal record in the 200m race, shaving off .61 seconds for a 24:00 second finish.  Sophomore Josh Nixon (Bloomfield, Conn.) followed in the 60m dash with a timed race of 7.64 seconds, and also set a new career-best in the long jump at 6.16m.

Sophomore Nick Garifalos (Spotswood, N.J.) took the track in the 500m race for the first time since last indoor season, and set a new PR with a final time of 1:10.33. Garifalos later participated in the 800m run and finished at 1:59.99.

Senior Jeremy Shriber (Central Valley, R.Y.) and freshman Ryan Dalaba (North Granville, N.Y.) continued to run as a duo, this time in the 1 mile run. Shriber clocked in at 4:50.26 – an improved outing from his last PR of 4:56.95 – while Dalaba finished at 4:54.62 for his first mile in a Laser uniform. Sophomore Troy Gonsalves (Providence, R.I.) competed in the mile event as well, finishing in 5:10.60.

The squad will lace up on Saturday, February 6 for the Dartmouth Classic beginning at 10:00 a.m.
