NEWTON, Mass. (12/06/14) – The Lasell College men's track and field team kicked off their 2014-15 season on Saturday, December 6^th in the UMass-Boston Invitational meet at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.

Freshman Nick Garifalos (Spotswood, N.J.) set the school record in the men's 500M dash, crossing the line at 1:10.64 in 13^th place. Junior Patrick Sponzo (Windsor, Conn.) also outran Lasell's previous 500M dash record, finishing in 18^th place at 1:11.64.   

In the shot put, senior Tyler Schwabe achieved a personal record, throwing 10.34m.

The men's track and field team will return to the Reggie on Saturday, December 13^th to compete in the Jay Carisella Invitational.
