Men's Track records  4 PR's at Art Farnham Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. (1/16/14) - The Lasel College men's track and field team put together a solid all-around performance at the Art Farnham Invitational this past weekend. Patrick Sponzo finished 3rd in the 800M with a time of 2:10.93 to lead the way for the Lasers. 

Edwin Sheehan ran a pair of personal records, finishing 15th in the 60M dash with a time of 7.57 and 17th in the 200M dash in 25.07. Rick Igbani was the highest placing sprinter for Lasell, posting a personal best in the 200M, finishing 9th in a time of 24.37 and 13th in the 60M dash in 7.54 seconds.

Thomas Skafidas placed 24th in the 60M with a time of 8.10 and Christopher Pena ran a personal best in the 60M with a tim eof 8.12 to place 26th. Skafidas ran a 26.44 in the 200M to place 22nd while Pena recorded a distance of 9.43 meters in the shot put for 14th. Robert Spellman placed 28th in the 200M with a time of 27.83 and Tyler Schwabe posted a distance of 8.33 meters in the shot put for 17th place.

Tyler Cohen, Kyle Northrop and Shawn Woodsworth joined Sponzo with solid performances in the 800 M, placing 10th, 11th and 13th respectively. Cohen ran a 2:29.62, Northrop was rigth behind in 2:29.73 and Woodsworth was nipping at their heels with a 2:35.98. Northrop also placed 9th in the Mile, running a 5:34.93 on the afternoon. Mike Bomberg was the lone Lasers athlete to compete in the long jump, recording a distance of 5.43 meters to take 13th place.

The Lasers will be back in action next Saturday February 1st at the Tufts Stampede.
