BOSTON, Mass. (1/19/14) – The Lasell College men's track and field team opened their 2014 schedule of meets on Sunday January 19^th at the Greater Boston Track Club Meet at Harvard University.

Edwin Sheehan led the way for Lasell in the 60M, placing 31^st in a time of 7.71 seconds, followed by Thomas Skafidas and Christopher Pena who posted times of 8.02 and 8.19 respectively to place 44^th and 50^th.

Mike Bomberg finished 23^rd in the 200M dash with a time of 24.79, followed closely by Sheehan who placed 28^th at 25.15. Skafidas finished in a time of 26.54 for Lasell, then Pena in 30.65 and Robert Spellman 40.92. Sheehan ran 40.14 in the 300M to place 9^th followed by Spellman who ran a 44.61 to finish in 12^th place.

A trio of Lasers competed in the 800M run with Patrick Sponzo placing 27^th in a time of 2:17.07, followed by Tyler Cohen in 2:35.93 for 30^th place and Shawn Woodsworth in 2:49.00 for 31^st place. Sponzo was the first Lasers runner to finish in the mile as well, posting a final time of 5:03.1 to place 34^th, followed by Cohen in 43^rd at 5:41.89 and Woodsworth in 45^th at 6:15.28.

Bomberg took 17^th in the long jump with a distance of 5.48 meters, and Tyler Schwabe posted a distance of 8.93 meters in the shot put, good for 13^th place.

The Lasers will return to the track on Saturday January 25^th.
