Lasers Compete at Reggie Poyau Memorial Invitational

WALTHAM, Mass. – The men's indoor track & field team competed at the Reggie Poyau Memorial Invitational at Brandeis on Saturday, December 10th.  The team competed well against a mixed division field.  During the day, Lasell set some new school records and scored in a number of individual events.

First year runner, Kyle Northrop (Bellingham, MA) had a standout performance for the Lasers, shattering a three year old school record in the 1000m race with a final time of 2:41.7.

Senior Antonio Nesbitt's (Springfield, MA) time of 6.87 in the men's 55m dash mirrored his previous college record performance of 6.87 in February of 2011, marking a strong start for him to the 2011-12 season.

Freshman DaShaun Hightower  (New Britain, CT) also secured his spot in Lasell's history with a 9.27 55m high hurdles record besting the previous 9.40 held by teammate Isaac Montoya (El Paso, TX).   Loi Huynh (Randolph, MA), another first year runner, led the Lasers in the 55m dash, finishing 11th in the field of 27 with a time of 6.91.

The men are now off for the holiday break and they will return to action on January 21, 2012 at the Bates Invitational.
