Track & Field Competes in First Ever Outdoor Spring Meet at Regis College

NEWTON, MA- In the first outdoor men's and women's track & field meet in Lasell College history, the Lasers had multiple outstanding performances on Saturday at the Regis College Pride Invitational, including three first place finishes.

 

Chelsea Zeig (West Nyack, NY) came in first in the women's shot put, throwing a distance of 10.39 meters.  Zeig also competed in the discus for the first time in school history, earning second place with a toss of 26.13 meters.

 

Kendall Logsdon (Palmer, MA) had a top performance in the women's long jump with a distance of 4.57 meters and JB Leger (Waltham, MA) rounded out the first place finishes with a 12.34 meter triple jump.

 

In the running events, Logsdon also came in 6th overall in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.53 seconds, and 10th overall in the 200 meter run with a time of 29.83 seconds.  Meridith Bienvenue (Addison, VT) ended the 200 meter race in 34.95 seconds, good for 15th overall. 

 

 In the men's 100 meter, Shane Cardillo (Great Barrington, MA) crossed the finish in 12.40 seconds, taking 5th place.  Also ranking 5th at the meet was Tri Vo (Attleboro, MA) who ended the men's 200 meter race in 24.81 seconds.  Mike Isherwood (Warwick, RI) and Felix Villa (Bridgeport, CT) concluded the 200 meter in 25.35 and 26.89 seconds respectively, earning 8th and 14th place.

 

Jeremy Fay (Belchertown, MA) rounded out the Lasers showing at Regis with a 5th place finish in the 800 meter run.  Fay ended the race in three minutes and 7.57 seconds.
