Four New School Records Set in Men’s Track & Field Outing this Weekend

CAMBRIDGE, MA--  Lasell's men's track & field team posted four new school records in an outstanding showing at the 2010 MIT Co-Ed Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Shobrys and Aronson track.   Freshman Matt Scully (Watertown, CT) made his mark in the mile run, freshman Patrick Slight (Franklin, MA) produced his record in the 1000 meter event, and sophomore Isaac Montoya (El Paso, TX) produced two school records in the high hurdles event and in the triple jump.

Scully finished in 6th place in the mile run, clocking a new Lasell record of 4:38.42. Slight earned an 8th place finish by  in the 1000 meter run, finishing with an impressive time of 2:51.10.  Montoya earned an 8th place finish in the triple jump with a record distance of 11.67 meters, and he finished with a new record time of 9.40 in the high hurdles.

The Lasers had a number of top performances in the non-scoring meet.  Junior Stephen Petrin (Vernon, CT) had the top placing performance for Lasell, taking 3rd place in the 200 meter, running a blistering time of 24.56 seconds.  Freshman Mikhail Krevosky (Oxford, MA) placed 13th in the same event, producing a time of 25.5 seconds in the run.

Krevosky also took part in the high hurdles event, completing in 9.72 seconds. 

Lasell's 4x400 meter relay team blazed their way to a 5th place finish with a time of 3:44.56.  The quartet for the 4x400 was made up of Isaac Soares (Somerset, MA), Mike Isherwood (Warwick, RI), Montoya, and Zach Lambert (Marlborough, MA). 

Another highlight from Saturday's meet included an 8th place finish by Lambert in the 600 meter, finishing with a time of 1:30.30. 

Other featured performances for the Lasers included Miguel Taveras (Lawrence, MA) and Raymon Donis (Raynham, MA), who took part in the 800 meter event.  Taveras grabbed 11th place with a solid run of 2:15.53.  Donis earned 15th place with a run time of 2:18.64.  Senior David Walsh (Springfield, MA) ran the mile event in five minutes, 10.24 seconds.  In the 400 meter run, Isherwood, Grant Vantine (Fitchburg, MA), and Jeremy Fay (Belchertown, MA) took 11th, 20th, and 22nd place respectively.  Isherwood's 11th place finish produced with a time of 55.64 seconds.  Vantine finished with a 65.12 second performance and Fay finished the run in 73.75 seconds.
