Lasers Compete at the Reggie Poyau Memorial Track & Field Invitational

Waltham, MA- Lasell's men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Reggie Poyau Invitational at Brandeis University on Saturday, January 16th. The women's team finished in sixth place and then men finished in seventh place overall.  The event marked their second meet of the season.

On the women's side, junior Stephanie Hauck (Westwood, MA) ran the 55 Meter Dash in 9.77. Senior Maura Moody, broke the previous school record in the 55 meter hurdles of 10.9 with a new time of 10.25. Sophomore Meghan Missett (Lowell, MA) also contributed with impressive run for the 3000 meter in 13:56.09.

For the men's team, Mike Isherwood (Warwick, RI) placed fifteenth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.31. Isaac Montoya, a freshman set a Lasell, set a record in the 55 meter hurdles placing seventh overall with a time of 9.47.

The men's distance medley relay also had a fine performance, combining for a time of 11:44.71. Patrick Slight (Franklin, MA), Matt Scully (Watertown, CT), Isherwood, and Ramon Donis (Raynham, MA) made up the distance medley team.  The men's 4x800 meter relay set a new record with a time of 9:15.62.  The relay was run by Slight, David Walsh (Springfield, MA), Scully, and Donis.

Overall the Laser's had a great meet setting many personal best times and school records. Their next meet will be Saturday, January 23 at Wheaton College in Easton, MA.
