Pine Manor Shuts Down Lasers

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (10/20/16) – The Lasell men's soccer team dropped its final non-conference road test to Pine Manor College, 6-0, on Thursday afternoon in Chestnut Hill.

The Lasers drop to 1-15 overall, while the Gators shift to 4-8-1 this season.

Pine Manor started the charge in the 16th minute as Giovanni Valenzuela converted on a penalty kick for his first girl of the year. Kenny Dwyer and Owen Haughton extended the home teams' lead to 3-0, as both teams headed into the halftime break with the Gators owning a 9-1 advantage in shots.

The Gators tacked on three more goals in the second half and earned their second shutout. The Lasers had an offensive spark in the final 45, getting six shots off, two of which were saved by PMC goalie Oscar Estrada. Matt Ferris (Wethersfield, Conn.), Sawyer Geelan (Guilford, Conn.), and Gerald Lemus (Revere, Mass.), all tested Estrada in net for the Lasers.

Lasell will head to Standish, Maine on Saturday to face the top-seeded Monks of Saint Joe's Maine with kickoff slated for 3:00 p.m.
