Salazar Takes Home GNAC Men's Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week

NEWTON, Mass. (4/10/17) -- Senior Jorge Salazar (Waltham, Mass.) of the Lasell College men's lacrosse team was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time this season, as announced on Monday.

Salazar made a combined 35 saves this week as he earned the Lasers' first three GNAC victories of the season against Norwich, Mount Ida, and Albertus Magnus. He made 18 stops in Lasell's dramatic, 11-10 victory over the rival Mustangs last Thursday, including 13 in the second half and four in the fourth quarter.

In the GNAC rankings, Salazar's 59.3 save percentage for the season sits third, while his 8.84 goals against average is fourth. This week, Salazar stopped 62.5 percent of the shots he faced.

The Lasers return to action on Tuesday, April 11 for a 4:00 p.m. contest against Johnson & Wales University on Grellier Field.
