Men's Lacrosse Takes Care of Albertus Magnus 21-7

NEWTON, Mass - The Lasell College men's lacrosse team scored their way to a convincing 21-7 victory over Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Albertus Magnus College at Grellier Field on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Lasers improve to 6-2, and 3-0 in the GNAC while Albertus Magnus drops to 3-7, and 0-3 in conference.

The Lasers dominated the game from start to finish, including a 2-0 lead just under 90 seconds into the first quarter. Albertus Magnus answered back late in the period as James May (Branford, Conn.) got the Falcons on the board with 1:39 remaining.

Altogether, 13 different Lasers found the back of the net, led by freshman Austin Shindoll's (Denver, Colo.) team high seven points, boasting three goals and four assists.

Freshman defenseman Darien Clay (Newton, Mass.) notched his first collegiate goal for the Lasers, while sophomore John Bianco (Blandford, Mass.) tossed in one goal, and three assists in the winning effort.

Defensively, the Lasers dominated in every facet of the game, with wining keeper Jorge Salazar (Waltham, Mass.) making three saves in 39 minutes of work. Andrew Modugno (Medford, Mass.) and Ryan Janovic (Easy Lyme, Conn.) both saw time in net with four and one save, respectively.

Connor Johnson (Hampstead, N.H.) led the Lasers with a team-high 10 ground balls for 48 combined this season, as the Lasers won the battle 49-24.

The Lasers bested the Falcons 21 for 32 at the face-off X with seniors Pete Dolan (Pearl River, N.Y.) going 9-10, and Chase Swift (Branford, Conn.) going 9-11. Freshman Ben Werner (Boxford, Mass.) added three wins in the outing.

Lasell is back in action on Tuesday April 11 at 4:00 p.m. to host Johnson & Wales in a GNAC battle, while Albertus Magnus returns to action on Saturday, April 15 on the road at Norwich.
