NEWTON, Mass. (3/13/17) -- Senior Jorge Salazar (Waltham, Mass.) of the Lasell College men's lacrosse team was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Salazar helped the Lasers to their first win of the season last Wednesday, recording a career-high 22 saves in the 12-11 overtime decision over Plymouth State. Ten of his saves came during the third quarter as Lasell had a 5-2 scoring advantage.

For the season, Salazar ranks fifth in the league with 43 saves and a .544 save percentage.

Salazar and the Lasers return to action on Saturday, March 18 when they head north to face the Vikings of Salem State University at 1:00 p.m.
