LaPorte Placed on NEILA Academic All-New England Team

NEWTON, Mass. (5/8/15)- Senior Aaron LaPorte (Gorham, Maine) was named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) 2015 Academic All-New England Team as announced yesterday afternoon.

Members of this team are student-athletes in their final year of eligibility who have made a significant impact on the field and have been recognized by the conference or region for their performace, while also maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. 

LaPorte joined forty-eight other Division III student-athletes on the squad, as represented by 27 institutions. Seventeen atheltes from eight Division I teams were chosen, while Division II named nine athletes to the roster from six schools.

LaPorte, dominating a 3.447 GPA, will graduate in May with a degree in Marketing. A Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) First-Team player, LaPorte tallied 20 goals and 13 assists to accumulate 33 overall points. Defensively, LaPorte caused three turnovers and collected 13 ground balls.  In his career, LaPorte registered 52 goals, 32 assists, and 84 points in 48 games played for the Lasers.
