Men's Lacrosse Stays Perfect in GNAC Play with 20-7 victory at Daniel Webster

NASHUA, N.H. (4/16/14) – The Lasell College men's lacrosse team used a big first half to pick up a 20-7 victory at Daniel Webster College on Wednesday April 16th in Great northeast athletic Conference action. The Lasers improved to 10-4 overall and 9-0 in conference games while the Eagles dropped to 1-10 overall and 0-9 in GNAC contests.

Casey Sullivan (Waterford, Conn.) netted four goals and two assists, Josh Gallant (Hampstead, N.H.) scored three goals and assisted on three others and Andrew Suh (Colchester, Conn.) finished with two goals and three assists for Lasell. The Lasers also got a goal and four assists from Pat Egan (Glen Rock, N.J.) and a pair of goals from James Finn (Quincy, Mass.). Chris Pena (Billerica, Mass.) got the win in goal for Lasell seeing 30 minutes of action before giving way to Jeffrey Bolton (Ashland, Mass.) who made five saves over the final two periods.

Anthony Cotoni finished with three goals and two assists and Gabe Lewis added a hat-trick for Daniel Webster. James Bushey made 20 saves in goal for DWC and Curtis Larade stopped seven shots in relief.

Suh opened the scoring for Lasell, scoring on a feed from Egan just over three minutes into the game to give Lasell a 1-0 lead. Cotonti answered with 10 minutes left in the first quarter to tie the score at 1-1 and then tacked on his second of the game to give Daniel Webster a 2-1 lead with five minutes to play in the opening quarter. Lasell responded with 13 unanswered goals over the rest of the first and most of the second quarter to put the game away and take a 14-2 lead. The Lasers got four goals from Sullivan in the run and all three of Gallants' goals came during the spurt as well. Daniel Webster scored in the final 20 seconds of the half to make it a 14-3 margin at intermission. The Lasers outscored DWC 6-4 over the final 30 minutes to take the 20-7 result.

Lasell will host Emmanuel on Saturday April 19th at 12:00 p.m. on Grellier Field as the top two teams in the GNAC will square-off looking to capture the top-seed in the upcoming GNAC tournament. The Lasers will also recognize five seniors who will be playing their final regular season home game in a Lasell uniform, Don Berube, James Finn, Chuck Graham, Dylan Gray and Bobby Spellman.
