Men's Lacrosse Falls to Visiting Roger Williams

Newton, Mass. (3/6/13) - The Lasell College men's lacrosse team dropped a Wednesday afternoon non-conference matchup against the visiting Hawks of Roger Williams University, 11-0. The victory was the first of the year for RWU, leaving them at 1-0 on the season, while the Lasers slid to 1-1 overall.

Jon Nessa (Concord, Mass.), Caleb Kenney (Portland, Maine), and Dan Arket (Poughquag, N.Y.) each tallied two goals for the Hawks, with Ness also adding a pair of assists. Drew Beck (South Salem, N.Y.) and John Ricciardi (Duxbury, Mass.) each chippled in a goal and an assist for the visitors. 

The Hawks tallied six first period goals, on their way to an 8-0 lead at the half while holding the Lasers from scoring enroute to an 11-0 win in their season opener.

Luke Aubrey (Norwalk, Conn.) earned the win in goal for RWU, stopping all nine shots on frame that he faced. Chris Thomas-Ikier (Burlington, Mass.) was credited with the loss for Lasell, making six saves on the afternoon.

Next up, Lasell will travel to Kean University on Saturday March 9th for a 2:30 p.m. non-conference game. Roger Williams will play host to Wheaton (Mass.) on Saturday the 9th at 1:00 p.m. in their next contest.
