MBB: Lasers Second Half Comeback Falls Just Short

Boston, MA - The Lasell Lasers fell to the Emmanuel Saints on Thursday night by a final score of 78-67. The loss drops the Lasers to 6-9 on the season, and 3-5 in conference play. The Saints are now 13-4 and 9-0.

After a quick 11-2 run to start the game, the Saints would control the first half. They would build there lead up to as many as 19, and take a 43-25 lead into halftime.

Early in the second half Emmanuel grew their lead to 21, but the Lasers would fight back. They would utilize an 18-1 run and cut the lead down to one at 51-50 with 11 minutes left in the game. But the Saints responded with a 7-0 run to take back control. They would build it back up to 13 points at 67-54. But the Lasers had one more run in them, and would cut it back down to four after Demerrick Warren converted an and-one with two minutes left to make it 71-67. But Lasell would be unable to get it any closer, and the Saints would wind up winning 78-67.

The Lasers were led by EJ Day, as he scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds as he played all 40 minutes. The Lasers had two other double digit scorers in Demerrick Warren (17) and Quinton Partee Jr. (15). 

Up Next - The Lasers will next play on Saturday, January 21st when they travel to Colby Sawyer for an afternoon game. The game will start at 3pm.
